Spadea 1285 Misses’ Dress Sewing Pattern: Beautifully flared dress features a front and back square neckline, fitted bodice with bow detail and short sleeves. Mid-Calf or shorter length.  This silhouette embraces the romantic style with its tight bodice and full skirt emphasizing the waist.

With World War II behind them, entertaining took on a new light.  Cocktail parties, often at home, were the vogue.  This dress would have been appropriate  – and still is – for such affairs with its mid-calf length using beautiful fabrics such as Shantung, Silks, Peau de Soie, Taffeta  and Satin.

Harvey Berin was an important name in lady’s clothing. His designer was Karen Stark,sister of Berin’s wife, Augusta. Stark adapted the latest styles from Paris each season with Berin approving or rejecting the designs.  Harvey Berin dresses were known  for being extremely well made, and were best known for their evening gowns and cocktail dresses.
